I am severely disappointed with my most recent experience at Mix Prime. My wife and I started our meal with Blue Point and Kumamoto oysters, along with mussels. The oysters were good and the mussels were okay, but unfortunately everything went downhill from there. We both ordered the stuffed filet of sole special, and it was extremely overcooked—dry, tough, and essentially inedible. We each had only a few bites before giving up. We politely mentioned the issue to our waiter, Ron, but did not make a scene or demand compensation. Our son did enjoy his steak, so this is not a complaint about every item that came out of the kitchen; the fish special, however, was awful. The outdoor patio also did not match the ambience or standard I would expect for the price. The landscaping looked severely overgrown and poorly maintained, with weeds coming through the mulch, plants that appeared dead or in desperate need of pruning, and generally unkept vegetation. Adding to the experience, I dropped my napkin on the ground and was told that the restaurant was short on linens and could not replace it. That is simply unacceptable at this type of restaurant. This was not an isolated disappointment. About a week earlier, I had another subpar meal at Mix Prime while dining with a vendor, but I let it go because I had always considered Mix Prime a place where you could count on getting a good meal. After two bad experiences in such a short period, I no longer feel that way. I also noticed a major change in how busy the restaurant seemed. Mix Prime used to have a full parking lot whenever I visited, but on this weekend night during prime dinner hours, there were very few cars when we arrived—and still very few when we left. I cannot say why, but after my recent experiences, it made me wonder whether other diners may be feeling similarly disappointed. We ended up reheating pizza at home because neither my wife nor I could eat our entrées. What is most disappointing is that, as a frequent customer who has recommended Mix Prime and continued returning even after a prior subpar meal, I reached out to management respectfully and received no response at all. I was not looking to cause a scene or demand something at the table—I simply expected the restaurant to acknowledge a serious issue with an expensive meal. The complete lack of follow-up says a great deal about how customer concerns are handled. For the amount we paid, the setting the restaurant presents, and the declining food quality, this will be my last visit unless management reaches out and makes a genuine effort to address the experience.
