Sugar Rush Park in Ballito is one of those places that offers a little bit of everything, making it a great option for a relaxed day out with family or friends. Set among the beautiful greenery and sugarcane countryside of the North Coast, the park has a lovely outdoor atmosphere and plenty to keep visitors busy. There are activities for all different ages and interests, including mountain-bike and walking trails, Tree Trails, putt-putt, a gemstone scratch patch, Ndlondlo Snake Park, drifting carts, bungee trampolines and the Sugar Rush Express train. One of the biggest advantages is that entrance to the park and playground is free, so visitors can enjoy the surroundings without paying an entrance fee and then choose which activities they actually want to do. There are also several food and coffee options, including Food Fundi, Brustar Coffee and other food outlets, making it possible to turn a visit into a full morning or afternoon outing. For those looking for something more active, the Holla Trails and Tree Trails offer a different experience, while families with younger children have plenty of simpler entertainment options. The park also has a relaxed, informal feel that makes it easy to spend a few hours exploring. There is a lot to like about Sugar Rush Park, particularly its variety. It isn't simply a playground or restaurant — it combines outdoor activities, food, shopping and entertainment in one setting. That said, because there are so many individual attractions, the cost depends on your choices. Overall, Sugar Rush Park is a worthwhile Ballito destination, especially for families and anyone who enjoys being outdoors. The combination of activities, open space, food and a country-style setting makes it a good option when you're looking for something different from the usual shopping-centre or beach outing. A fun, versatile North Coast destination with something for almost everyone.

Very relaxed and outdoor type of place for kids to play and adults to relax or bring out there inner child's side 🙃🙂 through ziplining or trampoline and the different food stalls that are available serving all kinds of delicious foods. For first timers I would definitely advise people on wearing comfy clothes, no heels I repeat no need for heels or fancy boots with heels🫡

Great place to take kids of all ages, especially if it's not beach weather! There are plenty of activities to choose from (cycling, go cart racing, archery, scratch patch, putt putt etc.). While entrance is free, you pay for most activities. The play park is free though. Putt putt was lots of fun but clearly designed by a sadist because it was extremely hard/impossible at time. Lots of laughs were had when someone had to fish their ball out of the water. Super average toilets though: there is no universal access, no parents toilets and the only changing station is a table in the middle of the shared hand washing area.

Our date kicked off at Sugar Rush Park, and honestly, this place is a full-blown activity buffet. It’s one of those spots where everyone is catered for—kids, couples, adrenaline junkies, and parents who just want five minutes of peace. The park offers a jungle gym area for little ones, zipline-style activities, hiking and biking trails, and of course, putt putt—which is what pulled us in this time. Beyond the activities, there’s a surprising amount going on: a mini princess spa, a raw honey and leather store, NASCAR-style drifting go-karts, and food options including a restaurant and a Smaque Stack stall that’s halaal. You could easily spend an entire day here without repeating a single thing. Now, let’s talk about the putt putt. This is a 19-hole course and let me just say—it is not for the faint-hearted. This isn’t your casual, knock-the-ball-and-smile situation. It requires actual skill. The kind that makes grown adults question their coordination and competitive streaks. That said, it’s still loads of fun, with clever variations that keep things interesting rather than frustrating. Pricing is reasonable, especially considering how much space and entertainment you get. The park itself is spacious and relaxed, perfect for kids to run wild, and you can even bring your own bikes. One of the unexpected highlights? Free-roaming chickens. There’s a small coop, and the kids were absolutely delighted carrying around little chicks—farm vibes included at no extra charge. Yes, the Durban heat was doing the absolute most that day, but despite the sweat and sun, we had a great time (evidence proudly documented in photos). All in all, Sugar Rush Park is a fun, family-friendly outing with way more to offer than just one activity—and definitely worth the visit if you’re up for a little challenge and a lot of fresh air.

We went to the tree trail for the zip line and it was sooo much fun. Scary at first but very fun. I like how this one Guy was sooo patient with my friend and our group and nje, big ups to him 🙌🙌🙌 They gave us water too and we needed that badly.
